The trencher is actually two separators in one. When terrain allows, install the back panel, attach the drag chain and pull the separator along with you as you dig, producing two rows of material. With the trench prepared, back drag the fines, filling the trench leaving the rejects ready to stock pile. When terrain does not cooperate, remove the back panel and use like a standard separator.
