McCormick Updates X6, X7, And X8 Lineups

McCormick made big strides with its utility tractors in recent years, culminating with a Tractor Of The Year 2018 award for its X6 VT-Drive. Notably, the VT-Drive technology provides a continuously variable transmission with a hydrostatic part and mechanical part. The hydrostatic transmission functions at low speeds, and at higher speeds, the hydrostatic parts work with the mechanical parts to minimize power absorption.

The company plans on further outfitting its utility tractor X6, X7, and X8 lineups with high-end technology this year. And although the additions vary by series, McCormick’s improvements push the utility tractors closer to the performance and comfort standard of bigger tractors.

    X6.4 Tier 4 Final

Available in 120 horsepower and 140 horsepower ratings, the X6.4 Tier 4 Final features 4-cylinder Betapower Fuel Efficiency 4500 cc emissionized engines, as well as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust gas after-treatment. VT-Drive is onboard and can combine with a Powershift transmission featuring three speed gears on load. You’ll have full control over the VT-Drive functions via the tractor’s multi-function armrest and 12-inch touchscreen display.

X7 Available With Either 4- or 6-cylinder Engine

When equipped with a 6-cylinder Betapower Fuel Efficiency Tier 4 Final engine, the X7.6 series is available in power ratings from 150 to 225 horsepower. The X7.4 series (4-cylinder models), on the other hand, feature a 150, 165, or 170 horsepower engine. McCormick’s X7.6 Tier 4 Final tractors support an Engine Brake Pedal feature that improves braking performance. The entire range of X7.6 Tier 4 Final tractors is available with either the VT-Drive transmission (up to 192 horsepower) or P6-Drive transmission (up to 225 horsepower). Models with the P6-Drive transmission can take advantage of Smart Autopowershift (APS) technology to let the tractor select the most suitable range and speed gear.

    X8 Amenities

The McCormick X8 all feature a 6-cylinder Betapower Fuel Efficiency Tier4 Final engine with 264, 286, or 310 horsepower ratings. A certified ISOBUS system is standard, as well as a 12-inch (305-millimeter) touchscreen monitor. McCormick also includes an electrohydraulically engaged three-speed 540E/1000E/1000 rear PTO among the standard equipment. The X8 lineup supports McCormick’s EazySteer and Precision Steering Management technology for more exact operation. Driving comfort and safety is improved on the X8, thanks to a front axle with electronically controlled parallelogram suspension system and oil-immersed disc brakes.
