Case IH will take home three AE50 Awards from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) for new seeding and harvesting technologies it brought to market last year. The organization gives out 50 such awards every year to recognize the most significant product innovations in the areas of agricultural, food, and biological systems.

“While our efforts are always primarily focused on improving the efficiency and profitability of our customers, we appreciate this recognition of our commitment to that goal,” said Case IH vice president, NAFTA, Scott Harris. “We’re also pleased to note that all three products recognized by the AE50 awards this year were developed through our Customer Driven Product Design (CDPD) process. The process supports our High-Efficiency Farming initiative and has been instrumental in providing producers with award-winning agricultural innovations.”

    AE50 Winners

Case IH’s winning technologies include the Axial-Flow 250 series (7250, 8250, and 9250) combines with the new, optional AFS Harvest Command automation system. AFS Harvest Command automatically adjusts combine settings to prioritize grain quality, grain savings, or throughput, based upon weather conditions and the farmer’s available time and needs. It basically automates all combine operations except concave clearance, header position, and grain tank unload, the company says.

The second AE50 Award goes to Case IH’s Precision Disk 500DS (double shoot) high-capacity air drill. It can seed and fertilize in a single pass, using a Precision Placement Knife to place the fertilizer where growing plants need it, according to Case IH.

Finally, the firm’s AFS Soil Command seedbed sensing and agronomic control technology wins the third award for the company this year. Real-time sensors help you adjust your tillage tool’s settings to seedbed conditions as you till for optimal results. Case IH tillage tools available with AFS Soil Command include the Ecolo-Tiger 875, TigerMate 255, True Tandem 345 and 375, and True Tandem 335VT and Barracuda.
