AGCO Unveils 790-Horsepower Fendt IDEAL 10 & 10T Combines
AGCO recently unveiled its new Fendt IDEAL 10 and 10T Class 10 combines, the latest additions to a product line that includes the Fendt IDEAL 7, 8, and 9. Both new models are powered by 16.2-liter, 790-horsepower (589-kilowatt) MAN engines. The extra power and the IDEAL 10’s 12% larger separation area combine to give the combine a harvesting capacity AGCO says is up to 20% greater than the IDEAL 9’s.
The new machines have the versatility to operate on varied terrain, with options for wheels or 26-, 30-, or 36-inch TrakRide rubber tracks. They also feature dual helix processor rotors that are 16 feet (meters) long and measure 24 inches in diameter. The processor comes standard with an IDEAL Streamer 6.0 auger that offers an unload rate of 6 bushels per second.
Other features that contribute to the IDEAL 10/10T’s increased cleaning capacity are IDEAL Balance return pans that “evenly distribute large amounts of materials to the cleaning system” and WavePan cascades that use “stratification and gravity to help separate grain from foreign material,” AGCO explains. With a double-drop design, the WavePan system provides better airflow, resulting in higher-quality grain.
Technologically Advanced
AGCO’s Fendt IDEAL 10 and 10T combines take advantage of several advanced technologies to make harvesting easier and more efficient. IDEALharvest, for example, allows the operator to set preferences related to grain loss, damage, and more, and then the system uses data captured from sensors and a camera to automatically adjust combine settings during harvesting to hit those targets. Regardless of crop density, weather conditions, field slope, and other issues or changes, the automated IDEALharvest system compensates “to maintain machine performance and grain quality,” AGCO says.
Another example is IDEALdrive, a twin-joystick steering system that will be available on any IDEAL combine with TrakRide technology, including the 10T. IDEALdrive’s highly accurate controls reduce operator fatigue by offering a more ergonomic experience. As the combine changes speeds, the steering sensitivity also changes to ensure the operator is always in control. Visibility is also improved because the joysticks replace the traditional steering wheel and column.
Those who purchase IDEAL combines, including the new 10 and 10T models, can take advantage of the AGCO Fuse precision farming platform, which includes three years of Fendt Connect for fleet management and diagnostics. Fuse consists of several solutions that “bring crop production decisions full circle from planning, field prep, and planting through crop care to harvest and storage,” AGCO explains.
Ready For The 2021 Harvest Season
“As AGCO expands its Fendt dealer network and product line in North America, we are excited to bring the IDEAL 10 and IDEAL 10T with the TrakRide system and IDEALdrive joystick steering to market for the 2021 harvest seasons,” says Kevin Forth, AGCO tactical marketing manager for harvesting. “Our engineers have designed substantially more power and cleaning capacity into the IDEAL 10 without increasing the size of the combine. Add the new IDEALdrive steering and TrakRide in combination on the Model 10T combines, and these Class 10 combines will deliver more bushels harvested per day and even easier operation during long days harvesting.”
