The 2021 lineup of John Deere’s Z900 Commercial ZTrak zero-turn lawn mowers comes with a variety of improvements, attachments, and deck options. Z900 M and R series models now have new spoked rims and cast-iron spindles. Also, every Z900 model is now available with a quick-release belt cover.

"It is important for us to provide our customers with the performance, durability, and reliability that they expect from a John Deere machine," says John Deere Product Manager Ruben Peña. "With these updates, we are further enhancing our outstanding ZTrak lineup, while also adding new options and offerings to meet the needs of our customers. These updates allow us to provide our customers with improved solutions that are designed to maximize jobsite efficiency."

    Tool Storage & More

A new cargo tray gives Z900 mower operators a place to put up to 20 pounds’ worth of small items as they work. Also new for 2021 is a rack for handheld string trimmers. In addition, there’s a new tool carrier suitable for bringing shovels, rakes, and other yard tools along for the ride.

    New Deck Options

John Deere also offers a pair of new deck options for the Z900 series. For the Z950M in particular, a new Mulch on Demand Deck provides 27 horsepower of processing power. The mulching deck has a 54-inch (1,372-millimeter) cutting width.

Another new option is available for all gas and diesel Z900 ZTraks: The new Fastback PRO Rear-Discharge Mower Deck allows mowing up close next to objects on either side. Also, its rear-discharge design and flexible rear shield reduce the chance of objects being thrown from the mower deck, as well as keeping grass clippings from blowing back toward the operator.

The reinforced Fastback PRO has a high-volume, deep-deck design. Special baffles around each blade minimize clumping and windrowing, according to John Deere. The deck’s cutting height can be adjusted from 1 to 5.5 inches (25 to 140 mm) right from the operator’s seat. The heavy-duty, greaseable Fastback PRO comes in 60- or 72-inch (1,524- or 1,829-mm) cutting widths.
