AGCO recently announced its all-new Challenger MT800 Series track tractors. The tractors have new engine and transmission combinations, an enhanced track and chassis system, more hydraulic and hitch options, and an updated cab. The new series will be available in 2021.

    You Asked, AGCO Listened

“AGCO is excited to introduce the long-anticipated new Challenger MT800 Series track tractors to our loyal Challenger customers throughout North America,” says David Soliday, AGCO senior tactical marketing manager. “They’ve been asking for improved efficiency in a high-horsepower track tractor with the benefits of flotation and the ease of a stepless transmission. The new MT800 Series is a great addition to the Challenger line of track tractors and a perfect example of AGCO’s commitment to serve the producers who require a proven, dependable high-horsepower tractor to pull today’s heavy tillage and planting implements.”

    About The MT800 Series

The series has four models ranging from 511 to 673 horsepower (372 to 502 kilowatts) with either a 15.2- or 16.2-liter, six-cylinder MAN diesel engine that use a low-engine-speed approach to creating high torque. The Challenger Accu-VT continuously variable transmission can achieve ground speed ranging from 65 feet per hour to 25 mph at reduced engine speed. Engine speed and transmission ratio is controlled by the Tractor Management System to maintain constant ground speed. The tractor’s two-track design has fewer components to maintain than four-track machines; it also weighs less and can channel more horsepower to the task at hand, and less to moving the tractor. The MT800 Series have adjustable track widths from 88 to 128 inches. Operators have a choice of four track styles with up to four belt widths from 18 to 36 inches, according to the style.

In the cab, operators can choose between standard suspension with four-point shock absorbers or the two-point cab suspension and a choice of three air-suspended seats, cloth, leather with heat, or leather with heat and ventilation.
