New Holland CR11 & CR10 Combines Reduces Loss, Improve Efficiency
New Holland provided an advance look at its new flagship combine, the CR11, at Agritechnica 2023 in Hannover, Germany. About six months later, the manufacturer has announced the flagship’s CR10 companion model. Both combines have new, 2 x 24-inch rotors and the new Twin-Clean cleaning system. The Next Generation combines also have new technology designed to minimize losses and total costs for the largest farming operation.
Greater Power, Higher Capacity
The combines are distinguished by their power and grain tank sizes. The CR10 has a 454-bushel (16,000-liter) grain tank and a 12.9-L FPT Cursor 13 engine that generates 635 horsepower (474 kilowatts). The CR11 has a 15.9-L FPT Cursor 16 engine producing 775 HP (578 kW) and a tank capacity of 567 bu (20,000 L). Both models are available with tracks or wheels up front.
The CR10 and CR11 have a 2-speed hydrostatic transmission and TerraLock semiautomatic differential lock, which is engaged manually and disengaged automatically. The new hydraulic system has redesigned hose routing to improve access. The harvest hydraulic drives are disengaged by a clutch in the main engine gearbox at startup and during road travel.
More Options & Efficiency
Cutterbar widths ranging from 35 to 50 feet (10.6 to 15.24 meters) are available in fixed, flexible knife, movable knife, or draper formats. Buyers can choose from 12- to 16-row corn/maize heads, and unloading auger lengths can be matched to the header width. Driveline options include standard with a fixed drive, standard with a variable drive, and a variable heavy-duty continuously variable transmission (CVT) drive.
The elevator has front face adjustment and comes standard with in-cab lateral tilt control. The crop is fed to the Dynamic Feed Roll system, which can now be reversed in sync with the elevator and the rotors to clear blockage. The feed roll system splits the crop into two even streams that then enter longitudinal threshing and separating rotors. The large stone trap in front of the feed roll can be emptied manually or remotely via the optional hydraulic system.
The CR10 and CR11 have two 24-inch (610-millimeter) rotors, each with 40 standard rasp bars, eight HX rasp bars, and 12 spiked rasp bars to improve the threshing and separating. The redesigned vane improves crop ejection if the rotors need to be reversed; the operator can adjust the vane angle from the cab.
About The TwinClean System
The TwinClean cleaning shoe uses two sieve systems, each with upper and lower sieves and a clean grain auger, in sequence to minimize grain loss. The combines can also be equipped with a standard chopper or a high hood-mounted fine-chop unit to manage residues. The standard chopper has 60 fixed blades working with 52 counter knives. The high hood chopper has a 500mm beater with two rows of spikes, two rows of blades, and a non-perforated beater pan. The beater is followed by a 6-row chopper with 88 flail knives and 67 counter knives.
Operator Comfort
In the cab, the operator has two IntelliView 12 touchscreen terminals to monitor and control combine functions, including mapping and guidance. The cab also has redesigned brake pedals and foot pegs, a luxury steering wheel, cloth or leather seats, and multi-zone climate control with floor-level air ducts. The Bluetooth radio enables control of the operator’s phone through the radio control panel.
