A Closer Look At The Link-Belt 100RT
A few weeks ago, we took a look at Kentucky-based Link-Belt’s new 100RT, a rough-terrain crane with an impressive five-section boom height of up to 155 feet (47.2 meters) and a capacity rating of up to 100 tons (90 metric tons). In this post, we’re revisiting the machine to expand upon a few of the machine’s standout features.
Let V-CALC Watch Your Capacities
Link-Belt’s V-CALC (Variable Confined Area Lifting Capacities) system, which comes standard on the 100RT, offers a user-friendly feature that leverages the in-cab Pulse 2.0 LCD display to inform the crane’s operator of the crane’s lifting capacities depending on the currently selected outrigger beam position. This impressive system supports 12 different outrigger configurations and displays 360-degree loading charts in real-time. V-CALC lets you set up the outriggers as fully retracted, intermediate, or fully extended, or in pairs from side-to-side or front-to-rear. In addition to intuitively limiting capacity, the system adjusts capacities in real-time to show you what possible at the next five radiuses for a given boom angle.
The Upper Frame
The 100RT’s upper frame is constructed of high-strength steel and features a redesigned winch capable of increased line pull, up to 23,632 pounds (10,719 kilograms) at higher working layers. Other new features include outboard routings for hydraulic lines and wiring harnesses, which makes the 100RT easier to service and more durable. The upper frame can be stacked with a trio of removable upper counterweights, weighing up to 28,800 pounds (13,063 kilograms).
A Cozier Cab
Another feature operators of the Link-Belt 100RT will love is the overhauled cab design. Inside, you’ll find an ergonomic seat capable of a 20-degree tilt, electronic joystick/single-axis controllers, a high-capacity HVAC system, loads of storage, interior lighting, time-delayed wipers, USB ports and 12-volt power supply connections, and a van-style pop-out door.
