JCB Loadalls Receive New Options In North America
JCB is offering new product options for its Loadall telehandlers in the North American market. As new industries such as the entertainment and energy sectors use telehandlers for new applications, the company says, they request special features that can enhance the product line for every customer.
“By making these new options available for our lift-and-place telehandlers, we give current and new customers the opportunity to tailor their machine for maximum productivity and safety in their particular application,” says JCB North America’s Product Manager for Material Handling, Rebecca Yates.
El PASO
PASO, or “positive air shut-off,” is a safety feature for worksites near flammable substances and gases such as propane and natural gas. When the PASO system detects the presence of flammable materials, it shuts down the telehandler’s engine to prevent possible combustion. JCB says that the new feature can protect oil and gas workers, miners, welders, airport runway staff, and others.
Visibility
JCB Loadalls also have a new rear-view camera package available from the factory. The rear cam, mounted to the chassis, displays its video on a monitor in the cab.
Also enhancing operator visibility is an extra mirror package. This places additional mirrors on the nose of the boom, the side of the engine, and the rear of the chassis. You can retrofit the new mirrors to older machines, too.
Non-Marking Tires, Cold Starts
Some venues require machinery to have non-marking tires to prevent scuffs and marks on the floor. JCB’s new non-marking tire options fit compact Loadalls that can lift up to 14,000 pounds (6,350 kilograms). The new tires are grey-colored and semi-solid in construction.
Finally, 74- and 109-horsepower (55- and 81-kilowatt) Loadalls now have a new cold-weather package available from the factory. JCB’s Arctic kit can keep your machine usable down to -40 degrees (Fahrenheit or Celsius). The package includes heaters for the hydraulic tank, engine sump, and battery, as well as Arctic diesel, a special electrical harness and hoses, and a storage cabinet.
