Vermeer Introduces TR5300EM Electric Trommel Screen
The TR5300EM trommel screen is the latest machine to join Vermeer’s electric-powered recycling product line. The quiet-operation trommel screen runs on an industrial-duty, fan-cooled 60-horsepower (45-kilowatt) Siemens electric motor with a drum speed of 0-24 revolutions per minute and a low hopper infeed with a 5.5-square-yeard (4.6 square-meter) capacity. The machine can handle multiple materials including compost, topsoil, and wood biomass.
Easy & Adaptable
The hydraulic-driven drum is 15 feet (4.6 meters) long and 5 ft (1.6 m) in diameter to optimize material processing and deliver a high-quality end-product; its quick-change screens and drum make it easy to perform sizing adjustments. The overs and fines conveyors are also adjustable to control dust and allow precise material placement and the auto overs flaps reduce spillage. The TR5300EM is built on a single-axle frame, allowing it to be transported for maintenance, storage, or to move to another jobsite. Optional accessories include a grizzly screen to sort oversized material, a magnetic head pulley for removing metal, an auger drum, and a hopper extension.
Growing Demand
Jay Van Roekel, product manager for Vermeer Recycling and Forestry products, says the demand for electric equipment to process organic material is growing and notes that size is also a benefit of the trommel screen. “The TR5300EM is a more compact unit than the TR626EM, making it an excellent option for processing facilities located in urban environments and companies looking to reduce emissions and maintenance.”
