Breakers are indispensable tools for rock and concrete demolition. They scale tunnels, run pedestal-booms on quarries, and tear out reinforced concrete abutments. Komatsu recently expanded its line of hydraulic breakers with the new JMHB-V breaker series, designed for compatibility with Komatsu excavators from the PC210 to the PC490.

    About V-Series Breakers

Komatsu’s 100% hydraulic-fired V-series breakers modulate their impact force and frequency with up to 16 working positions to match most application requirements. The breakers also have an energy-saving recovery valve that recuperates energy to increase machine efficiency and productivity and lower the cost per ton. V-series breakers automatically select the best piston stroke length and speed according to the material’s hardness to use long, powerful strokes for hard material or shorter, faster strokes for softer material.

Other standard features include automatic greasing, advanced blank firing protection, swivel hose couplings, and a heavy-duty housing. Upper and lower suspensions reduce the risk of cracking excavator booms and breaker housings, and a mounted automatic lubrication feature guards against contamination from dust and debris, lengthening the breaker’s effective life. Inspection kits are included with gauges to measure wear on critical components and Komatsu has a dedicated hydraulic attachments sales and service team to perform installations and service on the machines.

    Greater Operator Comfort

Operators benefit from suspensions with rubber and poly components that help absorb impact and reduce vibrations. The completely enclosed sound-dampening housings reduce noise compared to open-style breakers, which comes in particularly handy when working in urban areas with noise ordinances.
