Hyundai Doosan Infracore (HDI) recently shipped its first Doosan DD100 dozer for the North American market. The 9.9-ton (9-metric-ton) dozer is expected to enter mass production this month and will have its official launch in the third quarter. HDI also sent two other pilot machines to North America for performance tests and service training, and plans for pilot testing of the 14.3-t (13-mt) Doosan DD130 dozer to begin later this year, with production to begin as soon as February 2023.

The company says the dozer is the product of collaboration of multiple departments, including development analysis, market research, competitive benchmarking, validation, and pilot vehicle assembly.

    A Significant Milestone

“This is the next significant milestone in the development of the new Doosan dozers,” says Doosan Infracore North America CEO Edward Song. “Our North American dealers and their customers are eager for the arrival of the new Doosan dozers. We look forward to launching the new line of construction equipment later this year.”

    The DD100 Up Close

The new 122-horsepower (91-kilowatt) DD100 has a dual/single flange-type roller with multiple track guard options. The Doosan engine has convenient access points for maintenance and does not require the use of a diesel particulate filter (DPF) to meet the latest emission standards. The dozer’s blade is 8.8 feet (2.7 meters) wide and 3.6 ft (1.1 m) tall with a capacity of 3 cubic yards (2.3 cubic meters). The DD100 has 7.6-ft (2.3-m) tracks and a maximum travel speed of 5.7 mph (9 km/h).

Operators have an 8-inch Smart Touch display to control the machine, minimized front pillars for improved visibility, and a standard rearview camera. LED lights and front, rear, and side wiper blades further enhance safety and visibility. Dozer owners have the option of adding 3D Machine Guidance and 3D Machine Control features for increased accuracy and easier, more efficient operation.
