Komatsu will use its time at the upcoming ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023 to showcase machines and technology designed to increase productivity amid worker shortages. Among the machines on display will be the PC900LC-11 excavator, the PC360LCi-11 intelligent excavator, and the D39PXi-24, D51PXi-24, and D71PXi-24 intelligent dozers. ConExpo is the largest construction show in North America. The event is held every three years at the Las Vegas Convention Center and draws over 1,800 equipment manufacturers and service providers from around the world. The 2023 show will be held March 14 to 18.

    Smart Digging With The PC360LCi-11

The 80,000-plus-pound (36,287-kilogram) intelligent excavator comes with Komatsu’s Intelligent Machine Control (iMC) 2.0 technology to increase productivity and is designed to tackle large jobs such as mass excavation and finished grading as well as small- and mid-size tasks. iMC continuously monitors grade and adjusts as needed to reduce over-digging and make efficient use of expensive base aggregates in utility work. The PC360LCi-11 has a new tilting bucket, fully integrated grade assist, and stroke-sensing hydraulic cylinders that deliver precise, real-time positioning.

    The Komatsu PC900LC-11

The PC900LC-11 excavator is designed for use in heavy construction, demolition, material-handling, deep sewer, water, large mass excavation, and mining/quarry work. It comes equipped with the KomVision camera system and has the option of Smart Construction 3D guidance and payload monitoring.

    The D39PXi-24, D51PXi-24 & D71PXi-24 Intelligent Dozers

Like the PC360LCi-11, these intelligent track dozers use Komatsu’s iMC 2.0 machine logic to continuously take in terrain information and make automatic adjustments for the next pass to reduce the skills gap between newer and more experienced operators. The tilt steering control automatically tilts the blade as needed to maintain straight travel in rough dozing to reduce the amount of input that is required by the operator.
