Manitou launched its new Oxygen line of low-emissions equipment for the North American market to protect the environment while providing the powerful equipment needed on jobsites. As part of the new equipment range, Manitou debuted two electric rotating telehandlers, the MRT 2260e and MRT 2660e VISION+, as well as the electric MT 625e compact telehandler, at the American Rental Association Show in Orlando. The new telehandlers produce less noise and zero emissions for a safer, more comfortable jobsite.

A Great Fit For Battery Power

“We’ve retained the performance and specs of the diesel models while reducing emissions, lowering noise on the jobsite, and making lifetime owning and operating costs significantly less,” says Steve Kiskunas, product manager—telescopic handlers, Manitou. “Telehandlers are perfectly suited for electrification due to their varied use throughout the day, their ability to charge relatively fast, and the importance of less noise and verbal communication in many material-handling applications. And the elimination of service and support operations and costs around the diesel engines will have significant lifetime cost savings.”

    Specs & Features

The MRT 2260e and the MRT 2660e, part of the VISION+ line of rotating telehandlers, each have a maximum capacity of 13,200 pounds (5,987 kilograms). They are powered by a 700-volt, 65-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery with the option to add a second battery and double the battery capacity. The optional on-board fast charger can provide a full charge in less than an hour and an optional E-Xtra Generator can be added to supplement electric power. Operators can also use the “plug-in” mode to run the machine while connected to a jobsite’s main energy supply when the stabilizers are extended.

The MT 625e is a fixed compact telehandler and comes standard with a 25-kWh lithium-ion battery with the option to upgrade to a 35-kWh battery. The telehandler has a maximum capacity of 5,500 lbs (2,495 kg), a maximum reach of 19.16 feet (5.8 meters), and its max outreach is 11.08 ft (3.4 m). A full charge can be reached in just over two hours with the optional 9-kW on-board charger (the machine comes with a 3-kW charger). With low noise, zero emissions, a compact size of 6.33 ft (1.9 m) by 5.5 ft (1.7 m) wide, and a 10.83-ft (3.3-m) turn radius, the MT 625e can easily work indoor and in tight spaces.

    No Compromise

“We’ve focused on delivering an electrified solution that meets all critical use cases without sacrificing any performance capabilities of the machine, and we’ve accomplished that with these machines,” says Kiskunas.
