Allmand Bros debuted its new, hybrid-powered light tower concept at The American Rental Association (ARA) Show in New Orleans, Louisiana, February 19 to 21. The new Hybrid LT-Series light tower uses a lithium-ion battery from Vanguard for clean, quiet illumination and an internal combustion engine to recharge. (Allmand Bros and Vanguard are both Briggs & Stratton companies.) Allmand says the new light tower will be available this fall.

    Allmand Bros’ Hybrid Approach

Allmand says the Hybrid LT-Series’ Vanguard lithium-ion battery allows it to operate all night without the level of noise, carbon footprint, and emissions of a traditional engine-powered light tower. Its engine management system reduces fuel costs by maintaining the most fuel- and emissions-efficient operating range. The concept’s advanced electronic controller provides instant feedback to the user, who can adjust the engine’s carbon output by varying the brightness of the tower’s lights.

“Over the last few years, we’ve focused on designing and building products based on customer feedback,” says Allmand Sales Director Paul Daly. “Our collaboration with Vanguard made us agile enough to react quickly and meet the needs of our customers with this hybrid light tower, which complements our expansive product portfolio.”

“Allmand and Vanguard are a natural fit," says Vanguard Director of Product Management Nick Moore. “It's exciting to use the power of our Fi7.0kWh battery to help Allmand bring a new high-performance product to the market. Customer demand for products that reduce carbon footprint and emissions is growing, so this provides Allmand customers with a new revenue-generating opportunity.”

    A New Mini-Sized Maxi-Power Generator

Allmand also highlighted its Maxi-Power generator family at the ARA Show, including its new, compact MP8XR model. The MP8XR is a smaller, more mobile unit than the rest of the Maxi-Power range. Allmand says it has an extended run time and can run for a weekend without refueling.

Allmand says its Maxi-Power generator sets produce power clean enough for sensitive electronic equipment, such as at music festivals and other events. The reliable, quiet generators also see use in oilfields and for drilling rigs, the manufacturer says.
