New Holland Construction recently dipped its toes into a new equipment category with the launch of the E70D, its first midi excavator. The E70D fills the space between mini excavators and large, full-size machines. The versatile excavator can work in tight urban spaces and agricultural and municipal projects.

“This machine isn’t just about doing the job—it’s about transforming how it's done,” says Dan Kakareka, product manager for New Holland Construction North America. “With its powerful digging force, hydraulic performance and lift capacity, and automotive-style cab design, the E70D is set to redefine expectations and bring a new level of performance and efficiency for operators working in agriculture and construction segments.”

    Big Power, Smaller Size

The E70D has a dig depth of 168.1 inches (427 centimeters) and a dump height of 180 in. (457 cm). Its monoboom design enables it to navigate compact spaces. The E70D has advanced safety technologies, including LED lights and a rearview camera to improve visibility and backup alarms to alert others to the excavator’s movements.

The spacious cab has adjustable heated seats and an advanced climate control system.

    A Customizable Machine

Operators can customize their excavator with attachments, such as buckets, augers, breakers, grapples, and mulchers, or by adding 1,102-pound (500-kilogram) counterweights for stability. Joystick sensitivity and hydraulic response can also be adjusted according to preference.

    Easy Maintenance

The E70D has adjustable controls and an auto-lubrication system to simplify maintenance. Its 60.2-horsepower (45-kilowatt) 4-cylinder engine has a reversible fan to manage dust and maintain optimal cooling. The excavator also comes with a 5-year telematics subscription for real-time tracking, diagnostics, and performance monitoring.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of the New Holland Construction family as we enter a completely new product category with the E70D midi excavator,” Kakareka says. “Customers and operators are going to find a machine uniquely built for them and their needs.”
