New Holland is expanding its electric equipment lineup with the new 2.5-ton (2.3-metric-ton) E25X mini excavator and C314X mini track loader. The company will debut both models at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show taking place March 3 to 7 in Las Vegas. Deliveries are to begin later this year.

“What excites us most is the ability to reach customers we haven’t traditionally served, especially those operating in highly regulated environments,” says Jake Sickels, New Holland North America product marketing manager. “Now, we can bring them into the New Holland Construction family with machines, technology, and a dealer network that meets their unique operation goals without sacrificing capability or performance.”

Electrifying Benefits For Compact Equipment Users

Thanks to their zero-emissions operation and reduced noise output, the E25X and C314X are well-suited for retail construction, plumbing, demolition, landscaping, tree care, and other tasks where ventilation and noise restrictions apply.

New Holland says the C314X is gaining traction among landscaping professionals and arborists for uses such as site preparation, tree removal, and greenhouse work. With the capability to dig up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) deep, the E25X is a strong match for contractors handling foundation prep, utility installation, outdoor plumbing, and demolition work.

New Holland E25X: Mini Size, Mighty Possibilities

The E25X draws power from a 102-volt lithium-ion battery delivering 32.2 kilowatt-hours of gross capacity. The mini excavator uses an onboard 240-volt, single-phase charging system that requires roughly nine hours for full recharge. Operators can expect four to eight hours of runtime, depending on the work and hydraulic demand.

The E25X features electro-hydraulic controls with Eco, Standard, and Power modes to match performance to the task at hand. Available in either a standard rollover protection system (ROPS) or an enclosed cab, the E25X includes a 2-way blade with float functionality and supports a range of hydraulic attachments, including hammers, augers, and buckets.

New Holland C314X: 2 Configurations, Countless Jobs

Offered in narrow or wide-track variants, the C314X is based on New Holland’s diesel-powered C314 mini excavator. Like the E25X, it’s powered by a 102-volt li-ion battery system, though with a smaller 23.5-kWh gross capacity. Operators can choose Eco, Standard, and Power motor speed modes. A full recharge takes about eight hours.

Standard single auxiliary hydraulics allow operation of single-flow and bidirectional attachments, such as hammers, rakes, and tillers. A 14-pin electrical connection supports more complex attachments. Depending on the configuration, contractors can equip the machine with 36- or 42-inch (91- or 107-centimeter) buckets.
