Find Rental Equipment Faster On MachineryTrader.com, TractorHouse.com, TruckPaper.com & Other Sandhills Trade Sites
Equipment buyers are renting a lot more these days, according to analysis from Sandhills Global. Uncertainty in the market has fueled a surge of interest in rental equipment, which allows customers to access the machinery they need to get the job done without the commitment of a capital purchase.
In response, more equipment dealers are starting up rental departments—many for the first time. This is allowing sellers to designate suitable assets for hire and monetize units such as skid steers, lifts, and mini excavators.
Find Rental Equipment Fast
To help renters and dealers alike, Sandhills has rolled out some new features to accelerate equipment searches on MachineryTrader.com and other Sandhills platforms like CraneTrader.com, ForestryTrader.com, LiftsToday.com, and TreeTrader.com.
“With the recent updates to our trade sites and mobile apps, it is now easier than ever for a buyer to find your assets that you have available for rent with the click of a button,” says Rental Sales Manager Matt Sterup. “For buyers, the ease of use and the ability to easily compare rental rates should really streamline the rental process.”
View Rental Pricing Upfront
The first new feature displays rental pricing on appropriate asset listings. Equipment owners can post daily, weekly, and monthly rental rates and lease prices as applicable. This helps potential customers compare their options at a glance.
Listings also allow advertisers to list separate contact information for rental queries and sales calls. “If the piece is both for sale and for rent, we will display both the retail and rental contacts if they are different people,” says Sterup.
Display Rental & Lease Units With One Click
The other new development on Sandhills platforms is a prominent Rent or Rent/Lease button at the top of each list page of search results. This allows rental customers to find rental and lease equipment in their selected category with a single click.
“All visitors will see the Rent button on the trade sites, whether they are logged in or not,” says Sterup. “This will help increase traffic to the units that rental companies and dealers have available for rent.”
Customers can use the Show Closest First feature in conjunction with the new Rent button to locate rental and/or lease equipment nearest their location. Filters along the left side of the screen or in the Filters menu allow customers to specify the horsepower, hydraulic options, manufacturer, model, and other criteria of a machine, truck, or trailer they’re looking to rent.
Another filter, Listing Type and Auction Results, lets customers view only assets for lease or equipment for rent, as well as auction listings, auction results, and/or for-sale items.
RentalYard
RentalYard.com brings rental listings from all Sandhills platforms together in one centralized location. Rental customers can browse construction machinery, lifts, farm equipment, trucks, trailers, and more with ease.
The number of RentalYard listings is on the rise as increasingly more equipment dealers dip a toe into this additional revenue stream. “As many companies are placing an emphasis on the rental market in 2025, RentalYard can help you expand your rental footprint, and reach renters in new markets,” Sterup says.
