Daimler Trucks North American, a division of Daimler, announced in late September that it has certified Boyer Trucks of Rogers, Minnesota, as the 262nd member of its Elite Support network. Daimler describes the network as a collaborative effort between DTNA and its dealers that’s aimed at continually improving customer service. Based in Portland, Oregon, DTNA manufacturers, sells, and services commercial vehicles belonging to the Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, and Thomas Built Buses brands.

    Dealer Participation Process

Becoming a certified Elite Support member requires a dealer to participate in a process that Daimler describes as stringent and that entails a dealer demonstrating a proficiency in service and parts processes. Dealers must also demonstrate they can provide robust technical and operational training and offer superior customer amenities. Typically, the certification process takes eight months, though dealers are committed to continually reviewing their operations upon certification, Daimler states.

    About The Support Program

Among key areas the Elite Support program focuses on is express assessment, or communicating a preliminary diagnosis to a customer within two hours; superb customer experience, or maintaining a clean, comfortable drivers’ lounge manned by a professional staff and offering Wi-Fi access among other amenities; and exceptional turnaround and quality, or ensuring drivers get the fastest turnaround time possible. The can involve scheduling the most qualified technicians to perform work while a parts availability check is performed up front, and ensuring all vehicles undergo a quality check before leaving the dealership.

Additional areas of focus include certified Elite Support dealers stocking the most critical parts to ensure robust parts availability and to maximize uptime and provide consistent communication, including by providing customers time and cost estimates before performing repairs, sending regular updates concerning service status changes, and notifying drivers immediately when repairs are complete. Customers can search for an Elite Support certified dealer at https://freightliner.com/dealer-search/.
