International Trucks’ Uptime Command Center Keeps Trucks On The Road
One of the biggest enemies of the trucking industry is downtime. After all, if your trucks aren’t out on the road, then chances are your business isn’t making money. International Trucks fully understands this, and that’s why it recently opened up the Uptime Command Center, which essentially a team of Navistar uptime specialists based out of the company’s headquarters in Lisle, Illinois, that is dedicated to keeping trucks on the road. This unit offers 24/7 support for customers and has the ultimate goal of getting trucks (once an issue is diagnosed) back on the road within 48 hours.
Proactive, Predictive & Collaborative
The Uptime Command Center is built on the three core tenets of being proactive, predictive, and collaborative. It utilizes the OnCommand Connection network to gather data from over 325,000 vehicles and uses that information to set up maintenance schedules. Also a part of the OnCommand Connection network are Live Action Plans, which are currently in the pilot stage, and are designed to give customers real-time alerts about the need for repairs. And on the collaborative front, you have access to International’s extensive dealer network, which includes the parts and service necessary to get trucks back on the road quickly.
Dedication To The Job
Although the information-related aspects of the Uptime Command Center are crucial, you can’t underestimate the importance of the human element. The team in charge of monitoring vehicles and coming up with courses of action are experts in the field. International points out that open cases of truck downtime are measured in minutes rather than hours, because the aim is to address problems quickly using historical data as well as data gathered in real-time. The Uptime Command Center takes every possible factor into account when diagnosing issues and determining how to fix those issues, whether they are related to preventative maintenance or they’re on-the-fly repairs.
