Isuzu Beats Its Own Sales Records
Isuzu Commercial Truck of America recently announced that it beat two of its own sales records in 2017 in the areas of Isuzu truck retail sales and Isuzu parts sales, which means the company has improved upon its previous record in those categories for three years running. As far as the actual figures are concerned, Isuzu dealers sold 22,633 trucks in 2017, which was a record for the United States, and overall parts sales figures went up 3.9% over the previous years.
Isuzu doesn’t see a reason why its current sales trends will end any time soon, and the company expects to see continued success in 2018. Some of those factors include positive outlook for the U.S. economy as well as increased demand for medium-duty trucks. But perhaps one of the biggest factors will be the new 2018 version of the Class 6 FTR truck, which will join an already stacked lineup of vehicles for Isuzu that will carry it through this year and beyond.
More On The FTR
The 2018 FTR is a Class 6 truck with a 5.2-liter diesel engine that offers up to 215 horsepower and 520 foot-pound (705 newton-meters) of torque. The transmission is an Allison 2550 RDS 6-speed automatic. The FTR also has a payload allowance of 15,690 pounds (7,117 kilograms), a GVWR of 25,950 pounds (11,771 kilograms) and GCWR of 30,000 pounds (13,608 kilograms), a front axle capacity of 12,000 pounds (5,443 kilograms), and a rear axle capacity of 19,000 pounds (8,618 kilograms). There’s also an option for a 50-gallon (189-liter) or 100 gallon (379-liter) fuel tank.
