Mack Trucks To Showcase MD7 & Anthem Models At ExpoCam 2021
Mack Trucks has announced that it will bring its medium-duty MD7 and an Anthem highway model with the latest driver productivity, safety, and uptime technology to ExpoCam 2021. At the event, which runs September 22 and 23 at Espace Saint-Hyacinthe in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Mack will also celebrate 100 years of trucking in Canada.
About The MD7
The MD7 Mack will have at their booth (booth No. 4005) is a Class 7 truck with a GVWR of 33,000 pounds built for medium-duty van applications. The MD7 is available in eight wheelbase sizes ranging from 10 to 26 feet (3,050 to 7,925 millimeters) and with multiple engine and transmission options. Mack says the truck’s flat back-of-cab and clear body platform give customers lots of upfitting options. The 4x2 MD7 has a short bumper-to-back-of-cab measurement of 103 inches (2,616 mm) and is capable of a sharp wheel cut that comes in handy when working in tight urban areas.
“The MD7 model gives Mack customers and dealers a versatile medium-duty platform and proven powertrain that provides Mack’s signature durability, reliability and uptime” says Steve Jugovic, Mack Trucks regional vice president for Canada. “Designed around the driver, the MD7 also provides a comfortable, intuitive work environment to help maximize productivity throughout the workday.”
About The Anthem
The Anthem that will be on display at the show is a 70-inch standup sleeper with a 13-liter Mack MP8 engine and 12-speed overdrive Mack mDRIVE automated manual transmission that’s designed for heavy loads and demanding long-haul routes. The Anthem is loaded with the latest features for driver productivity and uptime, including Mack Command Steer driver-assist technology. Mack Command Steer uses multiple sensors to monitor road conditions, driver inputs, and the environment and applies torque from an electric motor accordingly to maintain the desired course. The system can help keep trucks steady during events such as wind gusts or tire blowouts and reduces overcorrection while generally reducing driver fatigue and muscle strain.
The Anthem is also equipped with GuardDog Connect, Mack’s integrated telematics solution for monitoring critical fault codes. When an event is detected, the system automatically contacts agents at the Mack Uptime Center. Many service alerts can be resolved using Mack Over The Air, which allows customers to make unlimited driver-activated software and parameter updates.
“The Anthem is the ultimate long-haul tractor, combining rugged looks with exceptional fuel efficiency and uptime for a wide range of loads,” says Jugovic. “Mack’s ongoing investments in driver-focused safety and comfort technologies for the Anthem help reduce the physical demand and strain on drivers, allowing them to focus on safely moving Canada’s goods.”
